MECHANIC FALLS – Kyle Giguere allowed no hits through four innings, allowed one earned run and striking out three Mechanic Falls hitters, to lead New Auburn Legion to a lopsided 13-4 win.
Justin Ciszewski’s fourth-inning three-run homer gave New Auburn a 7-2 lead, and proved to be all New Auburn (11-2) would need. Ciszewski had three hits, while teammate Brian Erickson chipped in with two hits.
Brent Cary drove in a run in the first for Mechanic Falls (3-7) and later scored on a Jeremy Callahan’s sacrifice fly in the fifth.
Bessey Motors 13, Gray 7
GRAY – Chris Henderson smashed a three-run home run in the sixth inning to lift Bessey Motors to a 13-7 victory over Gray.
Henderson led Bessey with four hits and seven RBIs. Steve Millett tallied three hits and three RBIs for Bessey in a balanced offensive effort. Nate Frechette allowed eight hits in seven innings to earn the win.
Adam Welch and Chris Moberg led Gray (3-9) with two hits apiece, while Mike Dunn suffered the loss.
Andy Valley 1, Gayton 1
LEWISTON – Andy Valley and Gayton Post had to suspend their American Legion baseball game Thursday after nine innings. The 1-1 tie will be completed later in the season.
Gayton scored an early run in the first when Luke Potter singled in Ryan Turgeon. Andy Valley produced the equalizer in the fifth. Tyler Cote scored on an error of a Ben Mendelson grounder.
Both teams had opportunities to break the tie. Andy Valley stranded eight runners while Gayton left 11 runners on base.
Locke Mills 3, Smith-Tobey 1
LOCKE MILLS – Gary Holman scattered five hits and received just enough support at the plate to lead Locke Mills to a 3-1 victory over Smith-Tobey of Bath in Legion baseball action Thursday.
Smith-Tobey scored in the second inning, then Locke Mills rallied back in the fourth with two.
Jamie Reilly led Smith-Tobey (8-6) with two hits, while Steve Hall suffered the loss.
Lincoln 10, Fairfield 0
NEWCASTLE – Joe Clark ripped a two-run home run to pace Lincoln to a 10-0 romp over Fairfield in Zone II action Thursday.
Seth Hartman chipped in for Lincoln (3-9) with three hits, while Ben Emery belted a home run and a single.
Emery also picked up the mound win, striking out four batters in five innings of work.
Nick Lee led Fairfield with a double, while Ryan Thierreault suffered the loss. Lincoln put four runs on the board in the first inning and stretched it out from there.
