AUBURN – Several students at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High were recognized for their help at the Hillside Caf as part of the Child Health Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters recognition dinner.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters staff recently honored the volunteers and their mentees, who participate in the mentoring programs throughout Oxford, Androscoggin, northern Cumberland and southern Franklin counties. More than 130 adults and teen volunteers, along with many of their mentees, gathered at the Martindale Country Club for dinner, entertainment and recognition.

The evening started with photos of the matches. After everyone arrived a meal was served while those attending were entertained by Jerry Nardi-MoY on the piano. The Great Stephan, a magician, presented a show.

The final event was the recognition of many of the volunteers and school personnel who have supported the site- and community-based programs over the last year. As part of the Oxford Hills program, Heidi Ricci, who oversees the Hillside Caf at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, presented Outstanding Volunteer Certificates to Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School students Adam Buckley, Donovan Dow, Crystal Perkins, Crystal Morneault, Cassi Harney and Dawn Buck for their help.

Each coordinator said there are many people who deserve recognition for their help each year. Those recognized represent a small number of those who support the mentoring programs.
