FARMINGTON – Farmington Art in the Park 2005 will come to life Friday, July 29, in Meetinghouse Park with 38 professional artists and photographers setting up displays of their work.

The show will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in conjunction with Farmington’s Moonlight Madness. A rain date of July 30 is planned.

Prize money, totaling about $850, will be awarded and winners will be selected from all works in the show.

There is another side to Farmington Art in the Park and that is the children’s art competition. It is open to the public and free to all kids ages 3 to 17. Judges will be on hand to award ribbons and many cash awards in four age groups and many categories of subject matter. Organizers believe in encouraging the community’s children.

The kids may bring up to two original artworks, framed ready to hang, and register from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 29, at the registration table located by the gazebo in Meetinghouse Park.
