RUMFORD – William J. “Bill” Comeau, 62, of Urquhart Street, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 14, after a short illness.
He was born to the predeceased Leo and Olive (McPhee) Comeau on May 2, 1943, in Rumford.
An avid member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Elks Club, Snowshoe Club and American Legion, he was a bartender extraordinaire for more than 27 years. He was a gentle, loving man and adored by all.
He was married to the former Cecile Soucy, on July 7, 1990.
He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Don and wife, Claudia of Hollis, and Alan of Rumford; sister, Theresa Comeau of Saco; stepbrother, Richard of Rumford; stepsisters, Mildred Wood and husband, Bob, of Farmington, and Edna Mace of Wilton; four stepdaughters, Beverly Soucy of Saco, Maryellen Freeman of Peru, Linda Bolte of Andover, N.H., and Brenda Soucy of Concord, N.H.; six grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a very special nephew, Troy Gallant of South Carolina.
He was predeceased by a stepbrother, Arthor Comeau.
