BETHEL – Subcommittees of the Bethel Board of Selectmen and Budget Committee are tentatively to convene a special meeting at 5 p.m. today to discuss participation in the Maine State Retirement System.
In a 9 p.m. e-mail after both groups met Monday night, Town Manager Scott Cole stated that today’s meeting in the town office is also to include an executive session with the town’s attorney.
He said the purpose of that session is to discuss potential town liability in the town’s administration of its participation in the retirement system.
The meeting is tentative because the availability of the attorney has yet to be determined.
