RUMFORD – Registrations are being taken for the third annual River Valley Expo, with fewer than 30 spaces available for the Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 event.
The expo, to be held at Mountain Valley High School, is a combined effort of the River Valley Growth Council and the River Valley Chamber of Commerce. Last year, more than 100 exhibitors participated and 2,000 people visited.
The spaces will be set up in the gymnasium and the cafeteria, with the outside exhibitors in close proximity to the inside exhibitors.
The fee for an 8-by-10-foot inside space with draping and a skirted table is $175; the cost for a double, 8-by-20-foot space with draping and two skirted tables is $250. The fee for for an outside 20-by-20-foot space with a skirted table and no draping is $175, and it’s $250 for a 20-by-40-foot skirted table with no draping.
Each exhibitor will have his or her company name, address, phone and either Web site or e-mail listed in the show guide; free admission to the pre-show exhibitor workshop; free admission to the awards social; and free electricity. Exhibitors are asked to bring extension cords.
The pre-show workshop will be Aug. 4 in Room 302 at the high school, with a light lunch from 5:30 to 6 p.m., and the workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. The presenter will be Paul Badeau, marketing director for the Lewiston Auburn Economic Growth Council.
On Friday, Sept. 30, the setup will be noon to 3 p.m., with the business-to-business event from 4 to 7 p.m. From 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., the awards social will take place at Park Place in Rumford. This year, there are three awards in each of the categories – Best of the Expo, and Spirit of the Expo.
On Saturday, Oct. 1, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., networking will take place, with the free show open to the community from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be a blood drive at the high school from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Western Maine Transportation Services will have a free shuttle from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from the Rumford Elementary School.
Other features at the expo include the child identification program by the Maine Masons, and a kids extravaganza, with activities held in the band room by Maureen’s Pre-School.
