AUBURN – Nicole Court-Menendez of Lewiston recently presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with donations from her birthday party. When Nicole, a sixth-grade student at the Pettingill School in Lewiston celebrated her 11th birthday, in lieu of gifts she asked party guests to bring a donation for the animals at the shelter. Pet food, treats and cleaning supplies were just a few of the items donated.

The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society provides a safe haven for approximately 3,600 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area per year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fund-raising events and donations.
