Poland Springs defeated Gippers/White Rock 14-5 in recent action. Randy Dubay, Mike Gazza, Jesse Robitaille and Mike Harris were all repeat hitters for White Rock. The Gippers squad bounced back shortly after with a 9-4 victory over Sabines. Mike Gazza went 3-for-3 at the plate with two home runs as the highlight.

Gippers/White Rock notched a 10-7 win over B.T. Palletts. Bob Haskell smashed a grand slam home run in the seventh inning to clinch the victory. Mike Gazza and Josh Breau led White Rock with three hits apiece, while Randy Dubay, Chip Doughty, Ed Fadden and Ray Roy chipped in with two hits each. Ron Tierney led B.T. Palletts with an RBI triple.

A-K Softball League

Lauren Hall struck out 11 and received plenty of support at then plate as Sabattus rolled past Greene 18-1 in local softball action. Abby Goulet belted out a triple for Sabattus, while Allie Landry, Katelyn Wood, Becca Belaire and Andrea Jenney.

Season-ending tournament: The A-K girls 12-and under Softball League is having its season-ending tournament on Saturday, July 23. Two fields will be used at Tripp Middle School and the Leavitt High School softball field. Games start at 8 a.m. with a two-hour limit per game. The tournament is set up as a single elimination tournament, light rain or shine. David Ingerson is the Umpire in Chief and the official tournament scorekeeper. Standings so far with still a few games remaining are as follows: Sabattus, Leeds, Greene/Eagles, Turner/Bluejays, Turner/Patriots, Greene/Gators, and Hartford. League trophies and tournament ribbons will be awarded at the end of the tournament.
