WILTON – The Wilton Lions Club presented scholarships to local students for the third year. This year the club gave two $1,000 awards.
The awards went to two Jay High School students: Jaclyn Lautz and Ashley Uhuad. Lautz is planning to study biomedical engineering at Boston University and Uhuad plans to study medical biology at Colby College.
The club also gives an award in memory of Raymond “Butch” Weed, going to a young person who plans to further his education in the field of home building. This year the $500 award went to Josh Blodgett, who plans to attend Southern Maine Community College this fall.
