RUMFORD – Funeral services for Maurice Voter of Rumford were held Thursday morning, July 21, at 10 a.m., from the Wiles Remembrance Center, 42 Weld St., Dixfield, with Deacon Rod Berger officiating. The Swasey-Torrey American Legion Post of Dixfield held public legion services the night before at the funeral home. Members of Lane Dube Amvets Post 33 and the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 of Jay conducted full military honors at the Demerritt Cemetery, Peru, following services. Those members were under the command of Dick Therrien. Firing Squad members were Richard Dupont, Wayne Piel, Roland Giguere, Joe Grooms, Wayne Parker, Raoul Laplante and Mike Wadsworth. The Honor Guard members were Harvey Sabin, Francis Therrien and Greg MacDonald. The flag was presented by Don LeSuer. Pallbearers were Joe Gendron, Kane Cottle, Don Gray, Chris Edmond, Norman Voter and Charlie Voter. His two grandsons, Colin and Thomas, served as honorary bearers. Following services, a reception was held at the American Legion Hall in Dixfield. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, Dixfield.
