SOUTH PARIS – Beverly June Sweetser, 71, of Bethel, died Saturday, June 23, at Market Square Health Care Center.

She was born in Bryant Pond the daughter of Frank H. and Luvie M. Cole Sweetser, and lived most of her life there.

Later she lived in Bethel and shared her life with longtime companion, Persey. Being from a small town, most people knew her as June, and talked fondly of her quiet way and how she could remember names, faces, dates, years and gatherings.

She smiled a lot and enjoyed small animals, cats being her favorite. She loved country music and knew all of the old songs. Often you’d see her walking to visit a friend or home to visit her Momma and enjoy fish chowder and teacakes. Family was important to her, especially spending holidays together.

June leaves a daughter, Pauline Sweetser Rogers; and grandson, Jonnathan of New Gloucester; a son, Paul Sweetser Wallas and his wife, Lily, and their daughter, Sonia Elizabeth, 7, of Bangor; an older sister, Frances Cox of Ramona, Calif. Frances and June wrote letters for years. They sent pictures and talked on the phone but never got to see each other much, yet they were close. She also leaves her brother of Bryant Pond, Robert, and Susan Sweetser. They live in the old homestead and had many gatherings there as June loved those times. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and greats; and her longtime companion, Persey Morin, of Bethel, who has been at her side every day in good times and during her long stay at Market Square Health Care Center. June was loved and cared for by the nurses there as well.

She was predeceased by a brother, Samuel Sweetser.
