GREENE – Hector J. Robichaud, 75, of 45 Zachary Drive, Greene, died Monday morning July 25, at his residence with his wife by his side following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Belliveau Cove, Nova Scotia, on April 30, 1930, the son of Wilfred and Katherine (Melanson) Robichaud and had been a resident of this community since 1968.

He was employed as a foreman for 17 years at Cianbro Corp., and later was employed at Camp Kippewa until his illness.

He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 106, and a parishioner of St. Francis Mission in Greene.

Throughout Hector’s life, he enjoyed working, especially at Camp Kippewa. He also enjoyed helping others out in need and spending time with his family and friends. The last three weeks of his life, Hector looked forward to visits from his two nieces, Terry and Danielle.

He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Tremblay, whom he married on Feb. 14, 1976, of Greene; two brothers, Camille Robichaud and his wife, Delores, of Nova Scotia, and Ben Robichaud of Val’Dor, Quebec; four sisters, Rose Marie Ford and her husband, Sayword, Ona Dugas and her husband, Dennis, Rita Robichaud and her companion, Don, Paulette Brown and her husband, Raymond, all of Nova Scotia; and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Nova Scotia.

He was predeceased by his brother, Lloyd Robichaud, who died in 2004.
