County Democrats meeting Thursday

AUBURN – The Androscoggin County Democratic Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Auburn Police Station community meeting room.

The speaker will be Carl Pease, party activist and vice chairman of the Maine Progressive Caucus. He will discuss the progressive movement and how it can serve the Maine Democratic Party as an affiliate organization. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Coming events include:

• A table staffed by U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud’s campaign office during the Festival de Joie, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 3 at 213 Lisbon St. Volunteers are needed, and people are asked to call 782-5704 if they wish to volunteer.

• The Muskie Lobster Festival, 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at Thomas Point Beach in Brunswick.
