AUBURN – Izella J. Dunphy, 92, of Auburn, passed away on Saturday, July 23, at Bolster Heights in Auburn.

She was born in Grindstone, on Oct. 6, 1913, the daughter of George A. and Ruby (Bragg) McLellan. She was educated in the schools of Strong.

She married Howard Dunphy on Sept. 29, 1937, and they lived in Highland Plantation for 46 years, until he died in 1983. She then moved to Skowhegan and over the years enjoyed moving to many other towns.

She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and canning.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Betsy Dunphy of Madison; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Dunphy of Madison and Kathleen Coffin of Boothbay Harbor; one great-granddaughter, Tiffany Coffin; and special relatives, Lee and Jake Dunphy of Highland Plantation.

She was predeceased by a son, Alva H. “Ike” Dunphy; and her foster family, the Spauldings.
