LEWISTON – Normand L. Dostie, 76, of 208 East Ave., died early Sunday morning, July 24, at his home.

Born in Lewiston, on Nov. 6, 1928, he was the son of Damien and Louisa Pare Dostie. He was a graduate Lewiston High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954, where he was stationed on the USS Coral Sea as part of the Mediterranean Fleet.

On April 12, 1958, he married Carmel Colett and together with their love and support, they raised three sons, taking great pride in their accomplishments.

After 33 years of service, in 1989 he retired from the New England Telephone Co., where he worked as a lineman and made lifelong friends. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America.

In 1993, he lost his wife of 35 years, Carmel, to pancreatic cancer. She was remembered fondly and missed dearly by Norm and his sons.

He is survived and will sadly be missed by his three sons and their families, Richard and wife, Suzanne Dostie, of Lewiston, Gerard and wife, Julie Dostie, of Washington, and Thomas and wife, Lynne Dostie, of Raymond; five grandchildren, Lindsay Dostie, Nicholas and Jacob Dostie, and Kaitlyn and Matthew Dostie; and his good friends and neighbors, Ron and Georgette St. Pierre.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife; and two sisters, Irene Farrand and Yvette Dostie.
