NEW YORK (AP) – A man arrested for possessing crack cocaine died early Wednesday after a struggle with officers at a police station in Queens.
The 35-year-old drug suspect, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested at about 1:10 a.m. in the Queens Village section.
After being taken back to the station, the man complained that he was sick and an ambulance was called. He refused treatment, grew violent and had to be restrained by Emergency Service Unit officers, police said.
The suspect was taken to Queens General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m. The medical examiner was to determine a cause of death.
