AUBURN – Johanna Lloyd of Poland was elected president of the Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club at its annual meeting.
Lloyd is a residential loan officer at Mechanics Savings Bank. She takes the reins from Sherwood Moody, who presided over the club during the centennial year of Rotary International.
“Some of the highlights of this year include the completion of our Centennial Project with Museum L/A and the inauguration of the Trip-of-the-Month fund-raiser,” said Moody.
The club donated $5,000 to Museum L/A and provided 610 hours of member volunteer service to help the museum move into its current phase of development.
The Trip-of-the-Month Contest fund-raiser generated $16,000 this year, about half of the total raised by the club in 2004-05.
Rotarians distributed a record $26,500 to local charities and Theo’s Work, a school and orphanage in Haiti.
