LEWISTON – United Way of Androscoggin County Board Chairwoman Jennifer Willey presented awards to outgoing members of the board of directors in May in appreciation of their dedication and service.

Honored were Rene Dumont of Sisters of Charity Health System; Pat Finnigan, city of Auburn; and Tammie Grieshaber, Creative Cycles.

In addition to his tenure as a member of the board, Dumont served as an allocations panel review volunteer. He developed a “priority grid” that assisted volunteers when making the decisions to allocate funds based on priority levels of service.

Finnigan served as the chairwoman of the board from 2002 to June 2005. She was instrumental in the search for a new chief executive officer in 2004 and has provided quality leadership, guidance and vision to United Way.

In addition, Willey welcomed three new members to the board: Richard Albert, Parent Insurance Agency; Elaine Dumais, Sisters of Charity Health System; and Dr. Ted Stokes, Maine Chiropractic Center.

Dumais is the elder care services marketing representative for Sisters of Charity Health Systems. She has helped United Way in the past as a volunteer on its campaign cabinet and more recently as an allocations volunteer.

Albert of Lewiston brings extensive knowledge about the Androscoggin County communities through his ongoing volunteer efforts with many organizations.

Stokes has been a chiropractor in Lewiston-Auburn since 1989 and has served many years as a volunteer on United Way’s Participating Agency Review Committee.

“We are extremely pleased and honored to benefit from the leadership, knowledge and compassion of the individuals who serve on the board of directors of United Way of Androscoggin County,” stated Executive Director Joleen Bedard. “They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience related to the community needs of Androscoggin County that will provide the staff and volunteers with invaluable guidance and support.”
