DIXFIELD – A benefit supper for the Maurice Voter family will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 31, with serving time from 4 to 7, at the Legion Hall on Maine Street.

The menu is baked ham, corn, potatoes, coleslaw, boiled onions, bread and dessert; cost, adults, $7; under 12, $4. There will be a Chinese auction and 50/50, as well as music by Silver and Gold.

Rent refund

RUMFORD – Beginning in August each year the Maine Tax and Rent Refund program provides rebates to homeowners and renters who qualify. SenoirsPlus staff and volunteers are available to answer questions about eligibility and provide seniors with assistance in completing the paperwork necessary to receive a refund.

SeniorsPlus staff and volunteers will be available from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays, Aug. 8 and 22, and Fridays, Sept. 9 and 30, at the Rumford SeniorsPlus, Senior Center, 50 Congress St., to assist seniors who need help obtaining information and/or completing forms.

There are several changes to the program this year, including the dates for which people can apply. The dates have been extended to include August 2005 through May 2006. Appointments at the Rumford Center are necessary to ensure sufficient time is allotted for all those who need help. To make an appointment or for more information, call Kim at 364-3572.
