LEWISTON – Martha Dana, the Giant Puppet Lady, will appear at the Lewiston Public Library at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1.

Tickets are required but are available at no charge in the Children’s Department.

Dana has been doing puppet shows for about 20 years at schools, libraries and birthday parties. She makes all her puppets and writes their stories. Her creations include string marionettes, hand puppets and figures that have to be worn.

Her stories are a mix of adapted classics and originals. Their most important element is that they make children laugh. She has favorites – a duck that squirts the audience with water, a dragon that doesn’t want to grow up and a naughty monkey.
