Kudos to Isabell Fisher for writing (July 28) about the traffic problems on Route 4. I drive from Buckfield to Lewiston every day and have had the same experiences.

It’s disturbing that even when driving the speed limit, people tailgate. So many drivers go way over the limit, while some others drive way below the limit, which also adds to the problems.

I lived in California, drove the freeway for 20 some years and across this country four times and not one accident. I was here not quite a year and was hit head-on by another driver who “thought” he had time to make his turn and with no signal.

Some drivers just don’t think or look ahead, and have no regard for laws or rules or other drivers.

Too many people have been injured or lost their lives on Route 4. Just recently a new cross has been added where a person died.

When will someone wake up and help the safe drivers? What can we do?
