Lakes meeting
WOODSTOCK – The annual meeting of the Community Lakes Association will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Maine Conservation School, Bryant Pond.
There will be a social time from 8:30 to 9 a.m. At 9, Bryan Lewis, fisheries biologist, will give a presentation on issues related to his profession. A brief business meeting will follow. All are welcome.
Ranger to speak
PINKHAM NOTCH – “A Day in the Life of a Backcountry Ranger” will be featured at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, as part of the continuing Wednesday Night with a Ranger speaker series in the White Mountain National Forest.
Backcountry Ranger Spencer Bleadorn will share the ups and downs of hiking the backcountry of the White Mountains at the session at the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Pinkham Notch Visitor Center on Route 16.

Bridge winners
RUMFORD – Duplicate Bridge Club winners at the July 28 game were: first, Anna Cormier and Woody Mercier; second, Jean and Stan Sotman; third, Marilyn and Eric Sahlberg. The club meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays the Community Center on Congress Street.
Museum open
RUMFORD – The Lufkin School Museum in Rumford Center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday, with a local member of the society present as host or hostess.
