Lewiston – Arrington Publishing, publishers of Arrington’s Bed & Breakfast Journal catering to the bed & breakfast/country inn industry, Arrington’s Inn Traveler for the Sophisticated B&B/Country Inn Traveler, and bnbjournal.com, has recently announced that Lewiston-Auburn’s Ware Street Inn has been voted by inn-goers as offering the “Best Breakfast In New England,” making it one of the top 15 bed and breakfasts and country inns in North America.

This is the second year the Ware Street Inn, at 52 Ware St., has been recognized as being in the top 3 percent of bed and breakfasts and country inns in the United States and Canada. The 2005 edition of Arrington’s Book of Lists featured the Ware Street Inn as the “Best Near a College or University.”

Innkeeper Jan Barrett serves breakfast items that include stuffed French toast, buttermilk apple pancakes with apple cider syrup, French toasted croissants with sauted apples and cranberries, baked peach pancake with honey raisin syrup or individual vegetable egg casseroles with pineapple chipotle salsa along with banana bread, as well as her memere’s cranberry sour cream coffee cake. Fresh-cut fruit, sometimes served as a parfait with yogurt and granola, is also a staple.
