Ag tags available

AUGUSTA – Maine Agriculture in the Classroom is taking orders for agricultural recognition registration plates. Proceeds from the sales of the special agriculture plates will benefit the programs of Maine Agriculture in the Classroom and other Maine agricultural and natural resource education.

The design was created with the help of Future Farmers of America, 4-H and other Maine students. Charlie Armstrong, cranberry specialist with the Cooperative Extension, pulled all the ideas together and painted the final design.

State statute says that in order for specialty plates to gain final approval from the legislature, 2,000 plates must be pre-sold prior to Sept. 1. A special Web site has been created where those interested can view the plate and download an order coupon at MaineAgTag.com.
