BRIDGTON – Bernice Irene Freeman, 76, died unexpectedly at her home in Bridgton, on Aug. 2.
She was born in Everett, Mass., on Aug. 10, 1928, daughter of Vincent and Marion Tower. She grew up in Massachusetts, and later moved to Maine and married her late husband, Clarence “Lee” Freeman, where they ran Lee’s Restaurant in Harrison.
She was a member of many organizations, including the Ladies Auxiliary VFW in Harrison, Woodland Rebekah Lodge 42 and the Lady of the Lake Red Hatters.
She enjoyed her music, watching Shirley Temple movies and having lunch with “the girls.”
She is survived by a daughter, Charlene G. Woolley and her husband, Donald E. Woolley Sr., of Harrison; a son, Gary L Freeman and his wife, Beth Freeman of Morrisonville, N.Y.; two sisters, Charlotte A. Parsons and her husband, Robert, of Westford, Mass., and Marion E. Perreault of Deering, N.H.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Bernice “Bunny” Woolley of Harrison.
