Vocal Solution’s concert Monday is part of summer series in Poland.
POLAND – Vocal Solution, a group of talented singers from the Oxford Hills, Poland and Bridgton regions will be featured Monday, Aug. 8, as part of the Poland Spring Preservation Society’s summer concert series.
The group was formed in January 1997 with the idea of creating an ensemble of experienced voices to produce beautiful four-part harmony. The singers, Kristen Searles, Pam Merz, Karen Chapman, Jane Morse, Kevin Murphy, Steve Bunnell, Del Leonard and Bill Eldridge, come from a wide variety of professional and musical backgrounds. All have in common the love of choral music. Their repertoire ranges from Renaissance madrigals to traditional spirituals to contemporary/popular arrangements.
Vocal Solution has performed at a number of community events and church services in the Oxford Hills area, as well during the Maine Music Society’s “Battle of the Blends” and as featured guests of the Royal River Chorus, a Yarmouth-based Sweet Adeline chorus. The group recently released CD, filled with crowd favorites from many years of singing together.
All concerts are open to the public and are held in All Souls Chapel in Poland Spring. Showtime is 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 and member seating is at 6:25. Admission is $5; all proceeds go to support the work of the preservation society.
