PINKHAM NOTCH, N.H. – “Fire in the Forest” will be featured on Wednesday, Aug. 10, as part of the continuing Wednesday Night with a Ranger speaker series in the White Mountain National Forest.

Wildland Firefighter and Fire Planner Erin Small will tell the story of fire management and show the gear that wildland firefighters carry. Small will present a slide show, discuss how and why controlled fire is used in the White Mountain National Forest and share some stories about firefighting out west.

The programs are presented by the Forest Service at 8 p.m. every Wednesday at the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Pinkham Notch Visitor Center, Route 16. Programs are free and all residents, campers and visitors are welcome. Programs are about an hour long with time for conversation.
