Am I the only one who finds the numerous misspellings and grammatical errors by the Sun Journal inexcusable and offensive?

A case in point was an article in the Aug. 7 paper, “Our Lady of Fatima’ big draw at basilica.” The Sun Journal used the word “statute” seven times, defined in Webster’s 9th New Collegiate Dictionary as “a law enacted by the legislative branch of a government,” when the correct word was “statue,” defined as “a three-dimensional representation usually of a person, animal or mythical being that is produced by sculpturing, modeling or casting.”

Whatever happened to proofreading? The Sun Journal has a responsibility to use the English language correctly.
