RANGELEY – Rangeley Lakes Regional School has announced that 36 percent of the junior and senior classes have completed one or more College Board Advanced Placement courses and required exit exams.
The course grades are based on a national exam and are scored 1 to 5 with a 5 being comparable to a college grade of A, a 4 being the equivalent to a college grade of A to B and a 3 being a college grade of B to C.
The average for students participating in the AP Program who receive a 3 or higher score in Maine is 10 percent.
Rangeley’s 2004-2005 class average was 31 percent.
Students scoring at the 3+ level earn three college credits for each AP course that they successfully complete.
The following students participated in the College Board Advanced Placement 2004-2005 Program: Nathaniel Oz, Krysteen Romero, Nicole Crupi, Seth Jani, Abigail Madeira, Kelly Brooks, Michael George, Rhea Golub, Megan Hughes, Carole Rose LaPointe, Brittney Moura, Tyler Philbrick and Sarah Schrader.
