BANGOR (AP) – A French citizen who tried to enter the United States by hiding in a sleeping bag in her boyfriend’s Ford Bronco will soon be sent back to Canada.

Alizee Valentine Sylvie Lillian Guiet, 18, was sentenced Friday in federal court to 13 days, the amount of time she already served in jail. Her boyfriend, Jay Benjamin Bost, 29, of Tulsa, Okla., still faces charges in the incident.

The day before she was nabbed at the Coburn Gore crossing on July 30, Guiet had been denied entry at the Jackman crossing because of Visa Waiver Program violations.

The couple had been camping in Canada and were heading to Oklahoma when they were arrested, said Guiet’s attorney, Jon Haddow of Bangor.

Bost, who is charged with aiding and abetting illegal entry, was released on his own recognizance and ordered to live with his parents.

It was the second sentencing in a week for a woman who attempted to sneak across the border by hiding in her boyfriend’s vehicle. A Nova Scotia woman was sentenced to 21 days in jail after she hid in her boyfriend’s trunk at the Houlton crossing.
