LEWISTON – Post-season playoffs begin tonight in the Lewiston Rec Men’s Softball League.
In consolation tourney play Saturday, SOCHS gained a berth in the American League playoffs. SOCHS beat Scott Thayer and Mockler Construction to advance to the championship round. Scott Thayer defeated L.A. G-Unit and Mockler, only to lose to SOCHS in the finals.
In the National League, Gipper’s knocked off Buddyz Construction and Carlton Club to move into the finals. Carlton Club beat Poland Spring, lost to Gipper’s, but then defeated Poland Spring again to get another shot at Gipper’s, but came up short in the championship game, as Gipper’s adanced to Monday’s playoffs.
The post-season tournament begins tonight. It’s a best 2 of 3 series. Tonight’s schedule, with all games at 6:00: National League: B.T. Pallet (1) vs Gipper’s (4), Randall-1; Ducharme Masonry A (2) vs Le National (3), Upper Franklin. American League: Ducharme Masonry B (2) vs Fast Breaks (3), Randall-2; New England Mortgage (1) vs SOCHS (4), Randall-3.
Tuesday’s slate: Gipper’s vs BT Pallet, Randall-2; Le National vs Ducharme A, Randall-3; Fast Breaks vs Ducharme B, Randall-1; New England Mortgage vs SOCHS, Upper Franklin.
Should teams split two games, the “if” games will be held Wednesday.
Auburn Players
AUBURN – The Auburn Players League post-season tournament (double-elimination) is scheduled to begin tonight. It was a random draw for positions. Home team will be determined by flip of a coin.
Following is this week’s schedule:
Tonight: Melanson/Webber vs Sluggers, Tribou, 6:00; Uncle Andy’s vs K&K Dirt Dawgs, Pettengill, 6:00; Main-Land Development vs Tail Gators, Pett., 7:30.
Tuesday: Meineke vs Coastal T’s, Tribou, 6:00; Motor Home/CarQuest vs Major Automotive, Pett., 6:00; Hart Transportation vs E.S.M., Pett., 7:30.
Wednesday: Reggie’s Sales Service vs winner Melanson-Sluggers, Lakeview-1, 6:00; winner Uncle Andy’s-K&K vs winner Main-Land-Tail Gators, Tribou, 6:00; winner Meineke-Coastal vs winner Motor Home-Major Automotive, Pett., 6:00; Superior Concrete vs winner Hart-E.S.M., Pett., 7:30.
Friday: losers’s bracket, losers games 4-5, Pett., 6:00; losers games 2 and 3, Pett., 7:30.
Championship game is slated for Monday, August 29 at 6:00 at Pettengill.
