CLARION, Iowa – Jean Rose Stetson, 86, of Clarion, Iowa, passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, with her loving family at her side and went to meet her Lord in glory at the Wright County Medical Center in Clarion.
She was born in Leeds, Oct. 18, 1918, the daughter of Eugene Rose and Amy Records Rose. She graduated high school in Kents Hill and then graduated from Bliss Business School in Lewiston.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Eugene Stetson on Feb. 19, 1938, in Wayne; he predeceased her on Feb. 12, 2002.
She lived in Leeds and in May 2000, she and her husband, Joseph, moved to Clarion, Iowa. She was most recently a resident of the Meadows in Clarion. She attended the United Presbyterian Church in Clarion.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia DeCoster and her husband, Jack, of Clarion, Iowa; four grandsons, Donald DeCoster of Clarion, Peter DeCoster and wife, Alina, of Clarion, Rodney DeCoster of Clarion, and Jay DeCoster and wife, Gina, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; eight great-grandchildren; and one promise to be born in January.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Joseph; a son, Joseph E. Stetson Jr., in June 1975; and five sisters.
