Vining family
WELD – The 20th Vining family reunion will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Center Hill Park, Weld, beginning at 11 a.m. Those attending should bring a picnic lunch for the family and food items to share with others; also bring musical instruments, a story to share or old photos. Beedy gathering
WILTON – The descendants of Aaron and Violette Dunham Beedy will hold the 58th Beedy reunion at Kineowatha Park on Sunday, Aug. 28. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a buffet-style lunch at noon. Family members are requested to bring favorite dishes to share. There are outlets for crockpots and a stove with oven is available on the site to heat dishes.
Food Committee members for 2005 include Cara Smith of Kingfield, Paula Enman of North Jay and Debbie McGrath of Greenville.
Cara Smith has suggested a Jimmy Buffet/Mexican theme this year. Members are asked to dress for the occasion.
Entertainment will consist of open mike and the annual auction to raise funds to pay for the facility, invitations and other items used yearly. Terry Corson of Kingfield will be auctioneer. Those attending are asked to bring an item to donate.
The slate of officers for 2005 is: president, Clarence Gordon of Livermore; vice president, Cara Smith of Kingfield; secretary and publicity, Carol A. Lanier of Turner; treasurer, Adelia Meyer of Solon; historian, Paula Enman of North Jay. Cara Smith will have color-coded name tags for the four main lines of descendants.
There is a playground available for the smaller Beedy descendants.
