JAY – Jay police charged two people Wednesday with stealing an all-terrain vehicle from Gerald “Yogi” Hiscock of East Jay sometime Sunday night or early Monday. The ATV was recovered Wednesday.

Robert Labrie, 34, of 27 Lincoln St. in Lewiston and a 17-year-old from Livermore Falls were each charged with theft of the machine.

Police developed leads after an article and photograph about the theft appeared in Wednesday’s Sun Journal, Jay Police Chief Larry White Sr. said.

The 2002 Honda Rancher was recovered by Jay police officer Russell Adams at a Gagnon Street residence in Livermore Falls, White said. Livermore Falls police Lt. Tom Gould and White assisted him.

The ATV had some damage, White said, but appears to be in working order. It looked like it had been rolled over, he said.

The investigation has also developed other leads into other thefts, White said.
