DIXFIELD – The third annual Festival of Flowers show will open at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, during the Dixfield Main Street Outdoor Market. Anyone from Western Maine is invited to bring their flowers and plants to place on exhibition to the Dixfield Historical Society (side entrance), 59 Main St., from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. There is no entry fee. Doors will open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21. It is free.

Greenery and accessories may be used with all entries. Entries may be picked up Sunday between 3 and 5 p.m. Awards will be for first, second, third, honorable mention, Best of Show and People’s Choice.

All decisions are final and the judges may withhold awards at their discretion. The Flower Committee will exercise all care but cannot be held responsible for loss or breakage. For more information call Esther or Al Larsen at 562-7332.

Categories are as follows:

Bouquet of wild flowers in a crock or pitcher; bouquet of cut garden flowers; house plant; potted plant or container garden; flowers in a mug or teacup; children 12 years and under, a bouquet in or with a toy or piece of sports equipment; dried flower arrangement; miniature bouquet less than 4″ high, use tiny vase; a single flower in a bottle or bud vase.
