ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Lucien T. Pouliot, 88, of Florida, formerly of Berlin and Gorham, N.H., and Lewiston, died July 19 at the Sunbelt Health Care Center.
He was born May 26, 1917, at St. Gerard de Wolfe, Quebec, a son of Wilfred and Eva Morin Pouliot. He attended St. Regis Academy.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Canberra as a gunner mate third class petty officer. He was a member of the USS Canberra Association CA 70-CAG2, VFW, Eagles and Joliet Snowshoe Club.
In Berlin, N.H., he worked at Glen Motors, and later he owned and operated his wheel alignment business on Cole Street.
In Lewiston, he worked at Marcel Motors. He also was a volunteer fireman in Berlin, N.H. He was an avid hockey enthusiast.
He is survived by a daughter, Lucille Pouliot of Manchester, N.H.; a sister, Jeanne and her husband, Lucien Couture, of Berlin, N.H.; a brother, Roland and his wife, Therese Pouliot, of Berlin, N.H.; a godchild, Elaine L’Heureux and her husband, Eddy, of Berlin, N.H.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Juliette (Dumas) Pouliot, in 1960; his second wife, Anne (Mayo) Pouliot, in 1990; his parents; three sisters, Alice Pouliot, Sister Yvonne Pouliot sgsh and Yvette D. Frechette; and two brothers, Theodore and Maurice Pouliot.
