GARDINER – Stephanie Capen, a high school senior at Erskine Academy in South China, will perform at 8 p.m.today at Johnson Hall.
Born and raised in Whitefield, she has been singing in public since age 3. She also plays the piano and guitar and has written songs for her first CD, “Platinum.”
Providing lead vocals, she recorded the album with Aaron LaChance on drums; Sonny True, guitars, bass, mandolins, strings; Jim Doherty, guitars, tambourine; Audrey Johnson, chorus vocals; and Glen Capen, guitar.
Capen has been involved in church youth groups and has performed in many plays and at food bank fund-raisers, retirement parties, weddings and school talent shows. She sang the national anthem at the Brunswick Naval Air Station last summer.
She has been studying voice for more than six years.
