Online book clubs

For those of all ages, there are various online book clubs to participate in:

SeniorNet (http://discussions.seniornet.org): Founded in 1986, this site is geared toward people age 50 and older in an effort to provide access to computer technology for senior citizens. Several books are available to choose from for discussion, and there are a variety of resources including discussions with the author and a list of in-person meeting locations.

Bookworms (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Bookworms_Reading_Group/): This group utilizes Yahoo’s Club Page and discusses one book a month. Books in the queue to be reviewed include “The Weight of Water” by Anita Shreve in September and “The Historian” by Elizabeth Kostova in October.

The Bookies (www.geocities.com/bookiestoo/): A book club conducted through e-mail that discusses two books a month, one in the first half of the month and another in the second. The next book to be reviewed for this group is Graham Greene’s “The End of the Affair.”
