PARIS – A Mexico man was indicted Aug. 12 on a charge of raping an unconscious woman.

According to the Oxford County grand jury indictment, Jesse M. Cross, 23, of 593 Backkingdom Road, was charged with gross sexual assault for committing a sexual act with an unconscious woman June 24 in Rumford.

An arraignment in Oxford County Superior Court in Paris has yet to be set.

Cross was initially arrested on June 25 by Rumford Detective Lt. Stacy Carter after police received a report that a 19-year-old Rumford woman had been sexually assaulted in an apartment on Oxford Avenue.
