PORTLAND – Donald J. Tremble Sr., 63, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, at Maine Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Bangor on Aug. 21, 1941, the son of Harold and Margaret (Luosey) Tremble.

He was a graduate from John Baptist High School in Bangor, and later graduated from Husson College, majoring in business administration and education.

He retired from Edward Little High School after teaching for 38 years. He was currently working for the Susan Curtis Foundation in Portland.

He enjoyed being a member of the Ancient Bros. Mason Lodge, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and York Rite in Auburn, and a Noble in the Kora Temple.

He was involved for many years with the Maine Education Association.

He had many professional accomplishments from real estate to drivers’ education, but is remembered more for his generous heart and giving nature – always the one with a smile and a kind word. He filled many lives with love and much laughter.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anne (Henry) Tremble, of Portland; two daughters, Jacqueline Witham and her husband, James, of Cumberland, and Debbie Bernier and her husband, George, of Poland; one son, Donald J. Jr. and his wife, Jillian Tremble, of Raymond; a brother, Joseph Tremble of Brewer; two sisters, Catherine McGlaughlin of Bangor, and Nancy Pare of Brewer; six grandchildren, Sage, Taylor, Daniel, William, Brian, and Helen; and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Jack Tremble and Richard Tremble.
