Volunteers sought
TOPSHAM – Flying Changes Center for Therapeutic Riding is seeking volunteers for its fall programs. The center provides services to children and adults of all ages who deal with physical, mental health or cognitive challenges.
Volunteers are needed to work in lessons as horse leaders as well as for assistance with equine care. Hands-on training will be provided for individuals who are interested in learning about and participating in the care of horses and/or as a side walker in lessons.
Other opportunities include gardening, outdoor facility maintenance (repair of fences, weed-wacking, painting) and light carpentry. Time commitment is generally two hours minimum a week and volunteer help is needed both weekdays and weekends.
The center is located on Route 201 approximately 2.5 miles from Mount Ararat High School. High school students seeking to meet a volunteering requirement are welcome.
