BRUNSWICK – Florence Mary “Tootie Lavers” Boucher, 71, died in Brunswick on Saturday, Aug. 27.

She was born in Woolwich, June 16, 1934, a daughter of Edward J. Murphy and Flora H. (McCormick) Murphy.

She worked for many years at L.L. Bean as a stitcher. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and word searches. Most recently she had become a member of Running Start at Mid-Coast Hospital and enjoyed her time “doing her therapy.”

She will be remembered as a feisty woman whose determination and spunk helped her overcome her first battle with lung cancer four years ago. She will also be remembered for her selfless generosity and her love of her animals. Most of all, she loved her family and friends, never interfering. She was a great listener, nonjudgmental and always the loving grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Melody Lavers of Pownal; her son, Wayne and his wife, Brenda Lavers, of Lisbon Falls; her stepson, Adam and his wife, Debbie Boucher, of Kansas; her stepdaughter-in-law, Pam Boucher of Standish; her stepdaughter, Lori and her husband, Bob Barnes, of Durham; her mother-in-law, Martha E. Boucher of Gray; her sister, Patricia and her husband, Edward Skillin, of Phippsburg; her brother, John and his wife, Nancy Murphy, of Woolwich; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her two husbands; Richard G.H. Lavers and Joseph L.E. Boucher; her stepson, Gregory Boucher; her sister, Noreen Young; and her brother, Sonny Murphy.
