FARMINGTON FALLS – Cloudy skies hovered over the 8th annual Phillips Nine-Hole Golf Scramble held at Sandy River Golf Course in conjunction with the annual Old Home Days events.
The scramble benefits the Phillips Public Library and netted $2,531.00, an amount less than $100 shy of last year’s tournament.
First place winner at the par 32 layout with a 26 was the team of Charlie Williams, Al Bain, Caleb Dionne and Doug Wood.

Stone registers an ace
AUBURN – Jay Stone registered a hole-in-one August 27 at Fox Ridge Golf Club. He aced the #16 hole, 203-yards, using a 4-iron. The feat was witnessed by Mike McKew, Scott Seguin, Al Seguin and Steve Levesque. This was Stone’s second ace, the first coming in 1998 at Fairlawn.
