JAY – State lawmaker and Jay Selectman Ray Pineau, who suffered a stroke Wednesday, has been moved to the rehabilitation unit at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Pineau, a Democrat who represents District 87, was initially at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington until he was moved to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor last Wednesday.

Jay Selectmen Chairman Bill Harlow announced the change of hospitals during Monday’s selectmen’s meeting.

No one could say how Pineau was doing. The family has requested no information be released to the media.

Harlow said that he was sure Pineau could use all the cheering up he could get right now. He also said that Pineau enjoys reading cards sent to him.

Pineau’s address at the hospital is at the town office, Town Manager Ruth Marden said, for anyone who wishes to send a card.
