Club barbecue

NEW SHARON – The Square and Compass Club of Franklin Lodge 123 will have a chicken barbecue and yard sale from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or when sold out on Saturday, Sept. 3. The Star Club of Messalunskit Chapter 170 will have a bake sale on the same date. Both activities will take place at the Masonic Hall in the center of New Sharon.

Sunday service

PHILLIPS – The Rev. Doug Walrath will lead the service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at the Phillips Congregational Church. Walrath’s wife, Sherry, will sign the service for the hearing impaired. Marnie Voter will sing and play inspirational music and the choir will offer the anthem, “Sheaves of Summer.” A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service.
