WINTHROP – Registration is open for Camp Ray of Hope to be held at Camp Mechuwana on Sept. 16 to 18. The annual weekend retreat is for families and individuals who have experienced the death of a significant person in their lives.

Attendees are given opportunities to network with other people from throughout the state who are also in the middle of transition from loss by death.

Children and adults participate with their peers in support groups and workshops that encourage healthy outlets and self-care. Campers can also fish and canoe. Massage therapists, reiki practitioners and reflexologists donate sessions.

Cost is $50 a person or $150 for a family of three or more. Some scholarship money is available.
