AUBURN – The Brunswick Naval Air Station’s Food Service has received the 2005 Edward F. Ney excellence in Food Service Competition, receiving a five-star accreditation for the dining facility.
Pathways Inc. of Auburn, staffs two crews daily of supported work consumers that are part of the team at the base’s dining facility.
The accreditation is based on a review of the overall dining experience. The Ney Review Team is sent unannounced to a facility to do a one-day review. It reviews food preparation, management, administration, equipment, safety, sanitation, plastic waste and disposal.
The highest honor a Navy dining facility can receive is the five-star accreditation. The competition is Navy-wide with more than 100 sites participating.
