SABATTUS – A proposal for two disc golf courses is proposed off Williams Road, planners told selectmen Tuesday night.
Exact acreage has not yet been determined, but the site plan calls for two 18-hole courses, equipped with a pro shop and nature trails. The only setback for applicant Peter Ruby of Sabattus is a problem with the footage between his projected nature trails and Fisher Stream, which runs along one side of the property.
The required setback is 250 feet from the stream, but the existing tote roads Ruby wants to convert into trails are approximately 75 feet from the stream.
The Planning Board will inspect the site at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, and the public is welcome to attend. For more information, people may contact Denis Castonguay at 375-4720.
