JAY – A Jay man is accused of furnishing alcohol to three underage Jay women and beating them up, police said Tuesday.
One of the women was treated at a Farmington hospital for facial and body bruises, Police Chief Larry White Sr. said.
Leo S. Michaud, 38, of 38 Main St. was arrested on a charge of violation of probation early Saturday and summoned on three counts of assault and three counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor, White said.
Police received a report of a fight Friday morning at 38 Main St., but when police arrived the people were gone and couldn’t be found, White said. A 19-year-old woman came to the police station “quite beat up,” White said. She talked to police and then went to Franklin Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released, he said.
Police meanwhile searched for Michaud and finally caught up with him at 12:21 a.m. Saturday, White said.
All three women – the other two were 18 – had been drinking at the Main Street residence, White said.
A verbal dispute occurred and there appeared to be an altercation outside, White said, and the women went outside to break it up. At some point Michaud got into the melee and was struck, he said. Michaud then beat the women up, White said.
Michaud remained Tuesday at the Franklin County jail in Farmington on a probation hold, a jail worker said.
