CANTON – Waneta P. “Nita” Errington, LPN, 81, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Victorian Villa in Canton. She was a resident of Main Street in Peru.
Born in Bridgewater, on Oct. 18, 1923, she was a daughter of George and Clara (Dow) Jamison. She was a graduate of Mexico High School with the Class of 1941 and also graduated from St. Francis Nursing School in 1965.
She worked as an LPN at the Rumford Community Hospital and the Dixfield Health Care Center for many years, until her retirement in 1995.
She was a former member of the Peru Baptist Church, Forever Young Group, Dixfield Senior Citizens and she also loved to knit.
She was married in Portland on May 18, 1973, to Walter L. Errington; he died in Orange, Texas, in 1977.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Christina and Robin; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Janice Curneil; three sisters, Elizabeth Dirsa, Ruby Errington and Nettie Phillips; and four brothers, Ray, Fay, Howard and Edward Jamison.
